Place to live in ORD?

Anyone looking, or know of anyone looking for a place to live in Chicago?

I've got a room open.
Bucktown, 7min walk to Blue Line.
Quiet, safe, flexible, $650/mo.

PM me!

This. Upgrade is less than two years now.

Noobs should not be worried about gouging up and barely slipping through the system.

They should be worried (scared actually) about somehow learning everything they need from the books, instructors, and line CA's that they're going to need as brand-new jet CA late next year (just in time for winter in the midwest).

If you're not scared now,in the words of Yoda: You will be...you will be.

I hate to sound like a old fart but I find a lot of FOs think being a captain is just going to another seat. Fastest way to get violated is to be a flight instructor or a captain.

I chuckle, all the stuff that they don't teach you is the sticky stuff you will be faced with. The reality is as a new Captain you will be flying with brand new guys, so you will truly be out there without a net, and making all the calls without any help. Yes, I do bounce things off of the other guy, I will make the final decision, but having another experienced brain on the subject adds more choices/perspectives.
Good luck with the "fast upgrade", its great, right up until its not.

Memorize memory items.
Know how to reference what needs referencing.

Are the erj guys flying a little more in ORD now? Heard that new hires in the last class got awarded it.

New ORD lines?

Anyone have some insight on if ORD is going to get more AA lines with ENY losing more jets and us painting more UA700s to AE livery?

We are slated to increase our AA departures from ORD from 13 per day to over 60 according to our a message from our Chief Pilot sent in Dec.

Hello all,

I have 2 questions about pay here at SKW:

1. On the 'Crew Pay' page on Sked+, is the pay calculated off of 'Assigned Credit' or 'Processed Credit'?

2. What is the difference between taxable and non-taxable perdiem? How is it calculated?

Thanks

It is supposed to be processed credit. If your 12/31 looks like mine though, I think there was a glitch. Mine quadrupled the last trip's credit and I'm getting an 88 hour paycheck! I'd bet that's not the "official" time card. If it is what I'm paid, I think I'm gonna owe SkyWest some moola.

It's a perfect storm of fast accession to airlines, "expedited" new hire screening/training, and fast upgrade. Spice that with some millennial attitude (in SOME new hires only, a minority actually) and you have a recipe for trouble.

I'm actually scared to stick around now, because eventually one of these fast track kids is going to crash under unbelievably stupid circumstances and put the company out of business. Or maybe not, mesa hasn't managed to do it yet and they've trying a lot harder for a lot longer.
