Anyone with a higher seniority than you can bump you off of the flight at the last minute, regardless of your time of check in.

Yeah heaven forbid the Mainline partner gives their employees priority over the contracted partner on the Mainline metal....kind of like how you get priority on your metal over Mainline.

With AA non Rev travel is prioritized solely by time of check in,regardless of hire date.
Mainline can only bump you out of a mainline JS,that's it.

No, they are about the best benefit we have.

You're letting your millennial entitlement lead you to believe that a 30-year DAL FA or ramper should not be able to bump you on THEIR metal. Other than the JS, pilots are not extra-special human beings compared to other employees.

On the flip side, you can bump a 30-year DAL CA out of any seat on a SKW airplane.

With all that said, airline travel bennies suck a$$ compared to ten+ years ago. I still use them because I can JS, but the rest of my family just buys tickets now.

Yup. Our plan is just to buy the discounted tickets.

Heard a funniest thing yesterday from a Skywest jumpseater. He said Skywest was gonna purchase Republic after they come out of bankruptcy! Now he seemed pretty serious about it, and he also seemed pretty new by the looks of his uniform and all the brand new crew bags. So I asked who's gonna purchase who? He said " well Skywest would buy Republic duh we're a pretty serious company and we wouldn't settle for anything else". God I love pilots such a strange group of people. Thank god he had a seat in the back! There's nothing worse than some fresh outta school super pilot talking about his dreams and how he's going to get on with delta cause he knows people.

Also not entirely true. AA benefits go by time of checkin within your category. AA employees (D2) go first by TOC. Then D2P (parents) by TOC. D3 and so on. Jumpseaters are D6. Through pax (D2T, D3T) also jump to the top of the list, which actually makes sense to me. So when connecting through a mega-hub, you might actually have a chance at making your connecting flight.

Seniority and Time of Checkin have their merits and drawbacks, and I do wish we were able to go ahead of mainline employee parents and children who are traveling alone. Kinda stinks when that 17 year old kid is sitting in business class, while I've been making DL and UA money, but sit in coach. But this is true for all the legacies.

That's hilarious. I haven't remotely heard of any kind of rumor along those lines.

For some reason at SkyWest it's either the super senior or the very junior pilots that always have the crazy rumors.
