There is no requirement for "turbine experience" there are FAA requirements anything else is airline dependent. The majors prior to 2012 have had pilots by the proverbial short hairs which is where this BS requirement for a degree came from, a lot of these requirements will be gone in three years. This is why the FAA with ALPAs help rewrote the minimum requirements for an ATP.
Young pilots need to remember that airline pilots were hired with a commercial license and with the auto pilots of today that is all you really need.
We need to get back to the days when pilots stood together and ensured they were paid for the responsibility they have. I can tell you the flying public has no idea that pilots "volunteer" to work for minimum wage. It is sad but it is still happening.

There is a difference between minimum qualifications and competitive qualifications - solely driven by supply and demand.

Can someone please share what airline code we are supposed to use for the TravelPro website? I've tried all sorts of combinations and can't get anything. I emailed travelpro two weeks ago and no reply.

Thank you

It's "SA" if anyone is interested.

Not at SKW, but should be the same for you as for us....

2) Taxable perdiem is what the company pays you when you remain in base. Say a single turn out and back into your home base. Non-taxable is when you leave your base and RON somewhere.

Additionally, you get to claim 80% of the difference between what the company pays you and what the IRS allows annually on your taxes, IFF you qualify to itemize (means nothing if you only take the standard deduction). But only (80% of) 75% of the first and last day.

Hello all,

I have 2 questions about pay here at SKW:

1. On the 'Crew Pay' page on Sked+, is the pay calculated off of 'Assigned Credit' or 'Processed Credit'?

2. What is the difference between taxable and non-taxable perdiem? How is it calculated?

Thanks

Has anyone here taken the new class with the new systems test?

Yeah, Its called studying and knowing the material, not memorizing answers.

For the sake of the safety of the traveling public, please STOP with this memorization crap, and actually learn the airplane.

/rant off.

I agree, there seems to be a mentality of passing tests and getting to the line and you're good, then waiting for next gauge to come out before aqp...all material is need to know because you use a lot of it everyday and the stuff you don't use everyday is what will bite you when you need to use it and don't know it.
