You get your schedule typically the 18th for the following month.Originally Posted by Randol

You pay income taxes where you live. In the past the state of California has tried to tax crew based there, but live elsewhere. You had to do 50% or more of their flying in the state. This situation would now be rare as the Brasillia is gone as jet trips leave California more.Originally Posted by hotbreeze
That sounds good. On a post about the dreaded tax topic, how do your income taxes work when you are based away from home? Are your state income taxes determined on your base (say, Detroit or Chicago) or where you live?

If I end up in Chicago or Detroit, what is the process to get to my desired base?
I have found that every airline's personnel department makes it sound "so easy" to get to your desired base, but is that reality?
Right now it's pretty easy. I got SFO out of training and it took me 2 months to get Seattle based.Originally Posted by hotbreeze
Can someone speak to the commuting policy at SkyWest? It appears that Junior FO's are being assigned to Chicago and Detroit on the CRJ side, and to Chicago on the ERJ side. Neither of these cities are where I want to relocate to.If I end up in Chicago or Detroit, what is the process to get to my desired base?

How long has it been taking new hires to get based in LAX? Either on reserve or holding a line.

My friend asked me to post this. He is planning to leave skywest for another airline and planning on givin 2 week notice. Is there anyway for him to cash out his user and vacation time except calling in for trips before he leaves? Pm if you don't want to post publicly.
