ONT to LAX use to be the shortest flight at 34 miles straight line distance. It ended in 2007. It was very common to takeoff of 26r and fly a straight line to 25L at 250kts in the Bro. You spent more time on the ground than you did in the air.

They make sense to the bean counters or they would not be flown.

We did that route for years on the "Bro". I think you could make SFO-STS in 12 mins, the return takes you over Point Reyes to get in line. We also did LAX-STS for a while but U dropped it for hub bypass or something.
STS often drops to minimums at night when the fog rolls in.

On the positive side, the bacon cheeseburger at the STS airport restaurant is the best burger I've eaten anywhere in the world. Seriously!!

CA upgrade hit new record - 1 year 8 months, few end of June 2015 newhires get awarded. Looks like at this point significant amount get bypassed by the lack of 1000 part 121 hours or total 2500 flight hours.
Fun times...

I just had two people I know text me saying they were awarded an upgrade and lack the 1,000 SIC. Things are about to get interesting.

yea, I guess company can waive 2,500 total fixed wing requirements,
but 1,000 SIC or part 135 PIC are in the FARs §121.436(3), there is no way company will waive that.
