I live in DEN too and it was great being home during training. Just make sure you don't get distracted from your studies. I went to SLC for sim and it was kind of nice to just focus on that for a while, rather than everything else going on at home. |

Did you pick the ERJ or the CRJ? Curious - I didn't know they were doing Indoc in Denver. I live in Denver and am scheduled next month for SLC.
Have you done your CTP yet? It is held in SLC or ATL. |

I am on the Ejet. Since you live in Denver, you have the choice of aircraft. Training is also a week shorter for the Ejet.

CTP is next month - haven't told me where yet. You can change planes during your CTP class and some were offered the Ejet when they were slated for the CRJ. (I think they were offered a 1 year seat lock, instead of the normal 2). If staying home (QOL factor) is your priority, the newest FO at DEN on the CRJ side is August 2016 (6 month wait) and on the EJet side is November 2016 (3 month wait). But, this changes constantly. New Ejet FO's are getting ORD and CRJ FO's are getting DTW. DTW would make for a difficult commute for me. ORD is much, much easier. I don't want to live in either place. Also, the Ejet is where SW is building its fleet. All these factors pushed me toward the Ejet. |

A 12 hour drive doesn't seem terribly bad. I've done that drive and worse. I also thought about renting a car just on the weekends. The Enterprise car rental is across the street from my hotel. |
[QUOTE=hotbreeze;2319735] If you want to upgrade to CA in the shortest timeframe, the CRJ is the way to go.
Not necessarily, upgrade time is independent of aircraft. You will get more hours and off reserve faster on the CRJ though |
