We do have LC. It's a 12 hour call out. PM is 9-9 and AM is 4-4, 2 hour call out. It's been a while since I've done the reserve thing but you can usually hold your choice of PM or AM. Hopefully Reserve will be short lived for you with all the hiring...

It's call first. So they tend to use you more.

They can also convert a certain number of days to short call.

Between trips and short call conversions, you don't get to enjoy too many days of LC. In fact they try to ensure you enjoy none.

"Hardly comes to that"? Minimum credit trips are the vast majority of my schedule.

Yeah I'm on long call right now. All of the above is correct. Basically 13 hours before your callout period begins if you see any opens in open time you'll be getting a call in an hour. And if there is no opens in open time you'll still be getting a call...to be converted to short call reserve. And they've been making my short call shifts noon to midnight so they can assign me standups when ppl call off. They can convert you to short call 6 times a month. From my experience of long call and short call, in my opinion they are about equal, just avoid reserve if at all possible.

Hey recent hires, where is CTP happening these days? Is it still roughly 1 week time? I'm assuming you're not an employee yet so you're dependent upon company to setup travel to/from event. How much time should you allow between CTP and basic Indoc, I was recommended 10 days but maybe that was between start of CTP and ground school.

Thanks

CTP is in SLC or ATL, depending on the class. I recommend the shortest timeframe possible between CTP and Indoc. Just enough time to take your written.

We had guys in our CTP class that only had a couple of days off. Your homework for CTP is to prep for the ATP written. If you aren't studying Sheppardair now, you are already behind.

I agree about the shortest time possible between CTP and class. I only had 1 day to take it before class started.

Yes you should do Shepard air in the evening during CTP, but by no means are you behind. I didn't get Shepard air until the day before the 3 days of sim started. I put in 3 solid days of studying and I walked in, got a 95, and walked out 45 mins later. It's an FAA written. You've taken them before and you know how they work.

That's it. Don't stress it.
