Has anyone else noticed how our flight attendants, specifically Chicago, continue to go down hill? Under educated, crass, whiny, and above all else would most likely become more of a hindrance than a help in an emergency?

Don't get me wrong, there are a few good ones, a few. People is wonder why this crazy flight attendant stuff happens, but look at the disgustingly poor quality of 90% of the FA hires.
Perfect storm of millennial, ghetto, and sub-walmart wages. At my base I'm thankful to fly mostly with granny's...who were pretty hot when they were hired 30+ years ago. Responsible adults who know what they're doing.

I have an interview date with both Compass and SkyWest coming up and am hoping to get offers from both. From you SkyWest guys, what made you decide this airline vs. Compass now that they pay about the same? I dont care which plane, just whatever gets my wife and I back to the Northwest the fastest. I applied when I saw Skywest had the PDX base. The pay's better than Horizon too so I didn't even apply there. I'll keep updating as I get done with the interviews starting next week!

I was kind of split between compass and Skywest but I went with Skywest because I live in one of their bases (DEN) and I got DEN pretty quickly out of training. That's pretty much what it came down to. From my class it was taking guys 6 months to get PDX and 10 months to get SEA.

I don't think you can go wrong with either honestly. I keep hearing that Compass flying in LAX isn't sticking around and that DL isn't happy with them, but thats all rumors. As things stand the best place to get West at Skywest is to get on the 175 and do so before senior ppl get in.

That's good to hear. Seems like I had heard that at one point. Thanks for that. Since I was scheduled once in the past for the 175 class then told soon before it started that I never held a slot anyway, I'm just wondering if it's going to happen again. I don't have a problem with it, business is business and if they need someone more valuable in the slot, I definitely understand. I just don't want to toss out any more fallback plans waiting on somthing that wasn't going to happen anyway. That's why I was curious if the slots for the 4/28 175 class were allready assigned.

I guess if you want to get in and hold a base where you don't commute this would work. But eventually they are going to have to let the CRJ folks transition. I had this happen where I was hired on the RJ and then my seniority was stagnate, and even went backwards, as those senior to me transitioned in my base. I didn't have the choice when hired, but hindsight I may have had a better QOL if I had started on the Bro. I would make me hesitate to take the CRJ where they are not honoring seniority in transitions. I think the seat lock is shorter if you are not given the choice.

New awards just came out. Most junior CRJ CA is a 6/25/2012 hire, so upgrade is now officially under 4 years.
