The benefit to SKW is that you can get back west pretty quickly and have plenty of options longer-term. If you want the west from day one, well that's kind of hard since the majority of US regional flying occurs in the densely populated eastern US.
By happenstance, CZ has junior bases in the west now.
Or you could try QX...and settle in to wait for the 19 year upgrade.

Oh, I agree. When I came to SkyWest, Envoy and Endeavor were burning dumpster fires and the bases at SkyWest made this place a no-brainer. If I had to make that decision all over for the base that I am in now, SkyWest would likely be choice 2 or 3. The only reason that Detroit is afloat right now is because people who want to be based out west are being funneled there. If LGA were to become our junior base and time in base at DTW increased, making duration of stay to go to ORD/MSP and all the other western bases longer, I am sure that many potential applicants would shun this place like a plague, and they cannot be faulted for that. If the base that I am in now could not be attained for a year while I could get it at Envoy right away and make $20k more first year, have a flow and have a one year upgrade as the situation truly has unfolded, why would I come here? For QOL? Everyone at my base is already getting 6 consecutive days on followed by 2 off. There is no QOL here.

I'm not sure the term "hordes" is quite accurate. There's a few, but from my contacts in the hiring departments at two of the big 3, those with TPIC still make up the lion's share of civilian hiring.

(despite that there are many of us not in our 20s like me who have a gripe as this company is literally making record profits by the day...stock went from $35 to $48 in literally one week).

Haha yeah I know, man. Just ruffling Truthanator's feathers. Apparently anyone who doesn't accept the increasing trend of crappy QOL and low pay is a young millennial

And it hasn't quite hit $48 but still crazy nonetheless!
