Seven years with those pay scales and everything else seems reasonable. They are getting pay rate increases of between 20-45% over the life of the contract, not 5% over 5 years. Plus, they are getting 100% matching on their 401k up to a maximum of 12.5%, an increase of 1.5 hours per month sick accrual, and an actual fleet commitment!

And that increases every year through the term of the agreement.
Things are changing fast. Let's see if those rates are sustainable.
If our hiring can't keep up with attrition, the company will come back to us.

Hey that's not a bad idea! Maybe we could set it up so that the yes voters can keep their low pay and the no voters can get the raise.
The yes voters would get the 1%, the company would save money on them, and the no voters can get what is deserved. Everyone wins

Not just keep up with attrition, but also grow by 500 or so. There were rumors last year of a 5000 pilot seniority list and it looks like that is in fact what we'll be shooting for.
