CRJ pilots got an email yesterday, pleading us to sit reserve or pick up open time the first week of October. Meanwhile, reported on social media, a displaced FO wanted a pick up a trip for 150%. They said since he was displaced he can only pick it up for straight pay. He hung up and will stay at home now.

The weaknesses at the seams of a model just barely held together by the good will of our pilots are starting to show through. Just wait this time next year when 60 people or more will be gone per month. Who will then cover all these crappy 4 credit hour standups? I foresee a wave of cancellations and ailing reliability.
