So I'm sitting at the top of the 5 day reserve bucket with call first and a bunch below me have pairings assigned already (start on Sunday). A bunch in the 4 day and 3 day buckets also have pairings assigned which I get because they get first dibs on 4 and 3 day trips. Do IOE and OOE guys trump guys at the top of the bucket?

Very frustrating.

Enjoy while it last.

In six months from now you will be on here *****ing about your 98 hour line and your inability to get time off.

I wouldn't call sitting in (and paying for) HoJo in DTW "time off".

I've seen people with 105 hour lines. Yes. Over 100. It's technically legal.

What about the pilot sitting next to you making $30/hr. Do you brag about how much you make
To them?

Seems more sad than anything that it takes 18 years to attain that pay scale, which is still less than the YEAR 2 FO hourly rate at UA/DL/AA.

Like.

Cue the yes voters and kool aid drinkers crying "don't compare us to mainline, we are a regional airline we can't expect to make mainline pay".

Even though you're comparing an 18 year regional captain to a 2 year mainline FO..

If they could take a paycut for the good of the company, I am sure that they would handily do so without a fuss. "We're a regional. We have to take more paycuts!!!11!11!" would be their slogan then.

And if you want to include QOL items, do you have a contractual no fault sick, fatigue, and commuter policy? Do they have a contractual train to proficiency policy that includes an impartial training review board? Do they have a neutral third party arbitration clause to handle disputes? Are they able to reassign you via ACARS? Are you required to check-in? Are you required to sit reserve if a flight gets cancelled? Is airport standby more than 4 hours? Can they assign you back to back airport standby days? Is there a limit on airport standby assignment per month? Can they assign you airport standby on the last day of reserve? Are there any automatic release rules for reserve?

Those are just a few items I can think of off the top of my head.
All good points but this pilot group has decided they prefer growth and upgrades over that stuff.

You need to stop pimping unions over here. It clearly didn't do you any good on your side of the fence. Like Utah said, we prefer growth and QOL over nitpicking at the small things.
