Being a USAF officer, who has at least been through Initial Flight Training (IFT), is probably a big leg up.

Default Recency

I'd like to apply to SkyWest soon but I am worried about my recency. Any idea how much time in the last 30-60-90 days they'd like to see? I work full-time at a non-aviation job so I average 2-4 flights in a Cessna per month to keep current. I fly in a simulator often but can't log most of it unless I hire an instructor. Is this a big deal? My TT is 2,200, commercial with 121 experience, no ATP.

I'd apply if I were you. Your recency shouldn't be an issue especially if you're flying a few times a month as we've hired people recently with far greater lapses in their recency.

Awesome, thanks! It's truly a different world than 10 yrs ago, amazing to be part of a hiring boom.

Before coming to SkyWest I would have been none the wiser that gender alone could land a female pilot into Delta, but my opinion has changed since then having flown with several women who have not been called for whatever reason.

Delta has shown a willingness to bend over backwards to hire 121 folks with a prior military background. Have a glance in the major forums. Frankly I think those two attributes got her the call along with whatever internal recs that she provided.

Good for her. She probably worked her butt off in active duty.

With 121 experience I would be shocked if they don't hire you regardless of recently.

As long as you're current and meet the required minimums, I would guess that you are good to go. PM me and I can refer you if you wish.

Angling for that $1250 referral bonus, huh?

She wasn't military.

Speaking of delusional:

"My numbers may not be impressive, but I'm proof that motivation, hard work, and the overall picture matters."
