Been there, done that. Sadly, that is reserve at SKW.

I'm convinced that CS is trained to automatically deny anything a pilot suggests. Instead, try reverse psychology. If you want to sit reserve in DEN, call them up and beg for them to send you to reserve anywhere else but DEN. Thinking you're trying to pull a fast one, they'll probably put you on reserve in DEN!

(A variant of this strategy actually worked for me once)...

That's exactly right. It's the culture of NO.

Also there's a lot of ego involved, if you found a way to fix staffing, make it sound like it was their idea. If you come up with it on your own they won't go for it.

I don't think I'm above putting my time in just like you all have before. But it is a little frustrating when we can spot the staffing issues that could be eased just a bit. Just hoping I can be five on two off in my home base soon.

The frustrating part is when 2 pilots want to swap something that is not only legal, but helps both pilots out. Crew Support answer? NO

I don't think that's the final DVR.

Or god forbid you try and swap stand ups with another crew member from the 17-19th when bids are being processed. It doesn't matter to crew support that the stand ups are two weeks from the 1st and in no possible way could affect the legality of your awarded line.
"We do not process trades.. no exceptions.."
But of course they can call and offer me time and a half to pick up trip during this very same period.
...and they wonder why our sick calls are up.
Ridiculous.

The email is out, that is the final DVR for the month. They may make small tweaks, but I wouldn't expect anything drastic. Also remember the DVR is just a guideline. What actually gets awarded is often much different than what shows on the DVR.

Hi all

I am still building time but I am in the SKW Cadet program. Any idea if being assigned to SEA or PDT is possible?

I am hoping to apply in February if I can get enough flying in during the winter months here in the Seattle area

I think you meant to say SEA and PDX. From what I hear it has gone really junior on the 175 side.
