100% agree. Morale is utterly hideous east of Denver. We have people quitting and heading off to part 135 operations so that they can procure time off. The schedules are rough. The further west one goes though, the more fanatic lifers are to be encountered, those who would be willing to sell all their belongings for the sake of the company's future. Sad state of affairs....
Quite possibly one of the worst posts I've read on APC, and that's saying something. If you want days off, you don't go Part 135. You may have been talking to an outlier that left, but it is certainly not the norm.

And I bet you are in one of those magical domiciles out west. Don’t worry, we won’t be here much longer. You can have this place. When all the junior people leave maybe then you’ll realize what all the fuss is about.
Enjoy your 1%.
Enjoy your 1%.

Have you seen the schedules in DTW for those junior of 30%? Maybe take a look at the bid transparency. It’s ugly out there. CH has posted some really eye opening data on all of this on the SAPA forums.

I never made it out to be the norm, but it is happening unfortunately, and that says something deeply disturbing about the schedules in Detroit.

The QOL is dropping, the days off are being reduced and morale is getting worse by the day. Management only listens to the butt kissers, so they have no idea.
A few years ago I would have said I was a lifer, I just paid to have my resume professionally done.

I'm ready to bail once I hit my upgrade hours if something doesn't change. Yeah, I'll be junior. But for a difference of $20-30k? Worth it, that's a substantial raise at this pay rate.
And for those who aren't in SkyEast, 80% of the pilots I fly with complain about the schedules, days off, pay, etc. While maintaining professionalism, of course. But most are realistic about our current position in the industry. I haven't had any who are debby downers about it, but everyone has a comment to make. Even some of the big names have made comments when I've talked with them on the ground or flown with them...I'd hope that's a sign that things might change.

I'm also on the list of people actively trying to get out. Morale around ORD lately is pretty bad.

On the plus side, you can pick up open time days at the end of your month that inevitably get dropped off because you run out of block due to ground delays

The e-mails begging us to work low-paying OT stand-ups on what little, precious days off that have been awarded to us are comical....
