Yep. I am previous 121. When I came to SkyWest. I found it odd that part of the culture here was to always trash on Mesa. Like SkyWest is somehow high and mighty and better than everyone, especially Mesa. I got on line and quickly learned that that is not the sentiment of the average line pilot. That attitude in the training department and of the new hires around me turned me off. SkyWest is the new Mesa. But the Kool Aid in Utah blinds the lifers and the squatters. A regional is a regional, SkyWest used to be one of the better ones. But things always change. And they change quickly. Skywest has fell behind the curve. I’ve found most SkyWesters Denver and West are just completely oblivious to what’s going on in the industry. Just stuck in their little 1990s bubble happy that someone is letting them fly a jet.

Now, basically the lowest pay scales (minus 10% for the block to credit bs from the published pay scale).
No time off!
No contract!
Most of training is now self taught but you get to double bunk, yea!
Most pilots fired in the industry!
What’s not to like?

Nah, if it were SAPA, they would spew garbage like how our pay is first among equals, and we are industry-leading in every way over all other regionals. SAPA's propaganda campaign during the TA vote was downright emetic. Many still feel a resounding insult to their intelligence directed towards them. SAPA's rulebook is molded on Goebbel's and Baghdad Bob's: tell a lie often enough, make it big, and people will eventually believe it, despite how inane it might be regarded at face value. Of course, that still doesn't excuse Truthanator's horrendous outlook on our profession. If his character on the line is indeed as this portrayal on APC, then I hold no doubt that he is bid-avoided like the plague.

Well written.

Perhaps if things get bad enough Skywest pilots will unionize. But they have been force feed coolaid for so long that the anti union flavor grew on them. An example is the Ford and Harrison "why Union's are bad" message on the Skywest pilot home page a few years ago. No it didn't say credit Ford and Harrison but that's who Inc. paid for the boilerplate message. In this job market maybe 1% raises will finally mobilize pilots. Union's aren't a panacea but look what you have now.
