Yep. No one outside of SWAPA knows for sure.

Koolies and probies still believe Nuts! is real and BoJo loves them....
The Koolie (and starting think SWAPA's) theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abrn8aVQ76Q I’m a probie, and I didn’t drink even a drop. Granted, 7 companies in 22 years can have that affect, but there were quite a few in my new hire that were on 2nd or 3rd airline and weren’t drinking it either. Now, the fresh mil and corp types were a little thirsty, but I’ve already seen some come around. I’m inside of my last 20 years of this and I starting to think the younger generation’s entitlement and lack of the last 20 years of F’d up airlines and unions is good, cause a lot of them think we deserve much more than we are getting. |

Plenty will be voting with their feet before long if this keeps up. Check the last class size |

Well… this kind of bashing of your own pilots is going to help the cause. Maybe try educating them instead.

The last two classes were small. As in less than 30. Were they planned that way? I keep preaching that them not being able to fill classes is big leverage for us.

I screenshot the last update to class sizes for 2023 but I’ll be damned if I can find it now. Class size was variable.
I will say one thing, the company works hard to sell themselves and to try to keep the kult-ure alive, SWAPAon the other hand has made no attempt in communication or education which is disappointing. With so much at stake and 40 pilots starting a week you’d think they would be trying to educate the newbs. We’ll see what happens, I’m hoping for the best and trying to keep a positive attitude. Have faith, us koolaid drinkers aren’t stupid. |

40 in my class, we are in our second week. Half of the class including myself wears the SWAPA lanyard. Yeah the kool aid is being served and we choke it down. I chose Southwest because it his a lot of potential. The lack of contract is the big unknown. My hope is that if we stand strong we will get a good contract and because of the meltdown things will change operationally. If not I’m getting a free 737 type in a pretty nice training center. I don’t have seniority keeping me here.

New Hires, it pains me to read that SWAPA is not more engaged with you guys especially at this critical juncture with our contract.
Change is on the way. Apparently they took one of our pilot’s suggestions on the SWAPA forum (everyone should be at least reading that forum) and there will now be more engagement with NHs. When I get the chance I’ll go ahead and pull that info from there and post it here. Very happy to hear that at least half are wearing the SWAPA lanyard. |
