AA is not better than WN no matter how mad everyone is with the contract situation. And I was addressing your “better DC” comment.

He said he’s quitting WN for AA on another thread. I’d say they’re run as bad or worse than here but with bigger planes and more retirements.

All depends where you live and if you can drive to work. I’ll give up a pile of money at the big 3 (WB pay opportunity) to avoid commuting and have a good QOL. If I lived in S. FL and could drive to MIA, I’d leave here too. Or see how the UAL MCO vacancy shakes out and go there if I lived near MCO/TPA.

I disagree. We are a ship without a rudder. GK stripped this place of all its advantages in the past 17 years. He is still doing so behind a curtain.

Bob Jordan's quotes from his CNBC interview: “Southwest pilots WILL have a contract THIS YEAR” and ”Southwest will pay them MARKET RATES.”

"MARKET RATES" for the most productive and efficient "PLUMBERS" in the industry. Fyi- Gary Kelly our previous CEO and now Chairman of the Board called us "plumbers."

The most productive and most efficient pilots in the industry deserve more than "market rates."

As a Southwest Plumber we are exposed to the most risk by making the most takeoffs, the most approaches and landings, and we spend the most time below 10,000 ft.

SWAs complex point-to-point network makes us more susceptible to frequent trip disruptions such as: delays, reroutes, deadheads, cancelations, unscheduled aircraft and crew swaps, reaching maximum FAR117 duty limits, and fatigue calls.

We work more days, in the past year our pilot group has lost 14,000 days off due to JAs, we operate more legs per day, we have some of the longest duty days and shortest overnights in the industry to support the complex SWA network, but our CEO has stated we only deserve "Market Rates."

I retired from Southwest in November at 53 years old. If I have to go back to aviation in the future, I would not go back to Southwest. It's not the people, its the management.

LOL. Yeah that needs to be fixed and will but that didn't make a difference when I looked at getting an airline gig. Live in Dallas and SW wasn't on my radar because regional flying in a 737 isn't for me despite losing out on some money that first year. Made it back in my mil reserve gig anyway. I'll take my one leg to LHR and a bunk over 4-5 legs a day in a 737. To each their own!!
