I'm still looking through everything and overall I'm very happy with the gains in this contract but I'm extremely disappointed in 12 year Captain rates. I thought (hoped) that the leaked payrates were bogus, but apparently not only were they not bogus, we didn't even achieve that. I'm going to be at the first roadshow in Houston and I intend to ask Jody, Damien, and Kurt face to face why they accepted less than 757 rates at DOR since they will also have to live with this contract for the next decade. If I'm satisfied with their answer, I will consider changing my vote, but as of right now I'm a no until convinced otherwise.

Good news for the .01 percent of pilots who like 4 days.
SWA is going from 20% max to 25% and 35% max four days
But hey, we're getting sunshades on the new jets and mx will stop removing them from the Max800s.
Winning!!!

no language to say when the company must offer MOT at a higher rate so dont count on the that triple time.
also with all the ways to take stuff out of ELLIT and the MOT money grab, possibly, there isnt going to be much in ELLIT so that flexibility is gone.
We're going to end up with fly your line and get guarantee. All the LCO stuff will be done except big storms etc.
I. Ok with fly my line and make guarantee but I think I'd like more pay to do that.
pay was way short. Definitely not what was implied in FP 2020. Career earnings is not 1%more.
and they cant say LCO etc will make up for it and say LCO etc is to keep the company from reroutes.

MOT is finally going to do its job, which is to solve scheduling issues early in the month and leave the emergencies for emergencies. There will still be plenty of uncovered flying and now instead of breaking a trip in to tiny bits and having reserves fly them, it will all be rigged.
ELITT inventories are almost certainly going to be a bit smaller initially, but as the schedule normalizes and this becomes the new system, guys aren't going to change their macro level behavior as far as days worked. If anything, they will end up working less. Elitt will normalize too.

That's a max number, not a target. Trips will still be primarily 3 days or less. Most don't mind a 4 day to the islands though once in awhile!

Sheesh, you guys need to spend more time reading and less time posting. This isn't even a concern. If they do increase the 4 day pairings, they will have to add turns and two days in order to keep the APL down. Also, while I hate them, 4 days have their place in the ecosystem and are amazing when it comes to vacation month bidding.

When discussing career earnings it seems most people focus strictly on pay rates in comparison to OALs and ignore much of the other contract language.
The mantra about not getting distracted by the shiny object (pay rates) while ignoring the details of what's in the contract regarding work rules, benefits, solid language, etc... seems to have been forgotten.
This advice applies even when to top pay rate is not what some desire.
I would have liked to seen $10 more in rates, but when comparing the rest of the contract to OALs I believe SWAPA did an awesome job!
Lastly, some have mentioned this already and I'd just like to echo it. When comparing pay rates, I believe using min line guarantee gives a more accurate picture in career earnings.
