From the Q&A document...page 91.

"On a short notice call out, do you still get the full two hours to get to the airport? If you need the full two hours and the flight goes out late, are you still paid premium for the day?
You still get the full two hours, see 13.M.1. Premium is based on scheduled check-in time, not departure time, see 13.M.3.a."

You are moving the goal posts again.

The issue is what happens to your premium pay if you get stuck in cross town traffic while on a short notice co-terminal reserve callout.

If the traffic delay is too long the company will put you back on RAP.

"A Reserve Pilot who determines he will be unable to check-in in accordance with Section 13.M.1 due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., excessive traffic delays) will notify the Company as soon as possible. If the Company removes the Pilot from the assignment, he will continue his RAP."

Simple....clear......no ambiguity. But here you go again, arguing against everything.

This is an extreme edge case that I doubt I will ever find myself in. But for some reason you keep circling back to it, even though the language is black and white. I can't imagine how this is occupying so much time in your life that you try to spin it different ways.

It would be nice if internet sh1t talkers would back up their words with a friendly wager, instead of continually arguing.

I will make the offer again.....

So, are you going to push to test on your first call out? I'm buying if you get stuck in traffic AND keep the premium. But if you get put back on RAP and lose the pay then you have to buy.

Or..... you can keep arguing with what SWAPA said, and what the company said, and with what the language says in black and white.

I guess this has turned into a ****ing contest on the semantics of the argument, however, who cares? If you can't make it to work because of a commuter issue it should fall under that same mindset. If you are a commuter and cant get on your flight, why would the company pay you the premium for it? You would still get the pay for the RAP in the driving example when they put you back on plus a bonus, you just burned up more time that they can't use you. I don't know, I guess I see it as a win/win if this rare situation ever were to occur.

sorry man, I have no interest in sharing a beer with you. Making a bet doesn't lend credibility to your argument, either.

it still seems your beef is with the commuter rules, as a few of us pointed out multiple times. I reluctantly shared the text from the Q&A only because it completely supported the position I'd been making all along.

happy DOR day!

I do not have a beef with any of these rules.

They are clearly written and self explanatory.

You started off by saying that premium was pay protected.

When I said SWAPA says it's not, you said wait for the language.

Now that the language is out, and it supports what I said.... and what SWAPA said, you changed your tune.

You even went so far to say it would be rediculous for premium to be pay protected.

You came round full circle and were arguing with yourself.

Now you are flip flopping again and trying to claim premium is pay protected.

But it's all right there in black and white....

Again, I do not have any beef with these rules. They are an edge case that I will probably never find myself in. And if I did, I would understand what happened because the language seems clear and I would NOT expect to be pay protected.

We are only here because you keep changing what you are measuring, and changing your position, and arguing.

I can't even imagine how this takes up so much of your daily thought processes.

Black and white language. If you get stuck in traffic and put back on RAP your premium is not pay protected as you have come back to saying.

The offer of a round of drinks is open. If you get sent back into RAP and keep your premium, I'm buying. If you lose the premium you buy. If you lose the premium and grieve it and win, I'm buying and you donate the recovered pay to SWAPA.

Sounds fun to me!
