They are getting the 737 MAX 9 pay rates (as well as MAX 10 pay rates and even 757 pay rates), but they are not flying those aircraft. Just 737-800 (and MAX 8) and 737-700 (and eventually MAX 7).
the MAX 7 probably won’t get certified anytime soon. It needed an exemption for the cowl Anti-Ice and I highly doubt the FAA will grant one now

That means nothing. An instructor is very far removed from the decision-making process of the FAA.

Supposed to have been certified years ago. I’ll believe it when I’m flying it.

You may totally be right, however the two issues have zero to do with each other. Time will tell I guess. Q1 this year is happening pretty quick lol.

You would be surprised how much the public opinion can influence the FAA. Boeing asked for a exemption from the anti ice deal a day before this incident and it went full viral everywhere. Big doubt they are going to give it to them now.

Exactly this. We’ve been hearing the same line for literally years.

I still am sticking with SWA waits for HAL/AAG to go through and then announces a merger with the combined Airline. This is something that I think AW,BJ, and GK could all agree on up at the puzzle palace and seems like the most likely next target.
