From being an engineer working on your CFI in 2018 to an expert on the industry today, you must have stayed up all night reading to become such an expert in such a short time. This is the first slow dance you’ve experienced, does it make you uncomfortable to be held??

According to crew planning, in 2024, SWA was suppose to hire 734. Attrition was suppose to be 15-20 a month. Attrition has pretty much evaporated. So a net gain of gain of about 519. Now they lowered that. 345 are already in class or will be. So the rest we will have to see.
Remember, SWAPA CBA is more limiting on duty periods than block. Crew planning numbers run more on staffing through duty periods(section 9). The days of two crews per aircraft are long gone. Especially when you factor longer stage lengths. Although their are block hour limits within section 9, it's almost impossible to stuff that much block per duty period.
The fact they haven't changed the upgrades at all is telling.
AW has already stated that staffing is more of a function of utilization. Being a little lean is ok. Being fat will only **** off management and pilots. Especially here.

It would be a great fit for sure. Essentially the same customers. SWA is a broke man’s legacy without the Widebody’s of course. I’ve seen more pax next to the SWA gates with garbage bags used for luggage in ATL than Spirit. So this should be considered an upgrade for SWA. Largest industry myth is SWA claiming they’re not a ULCC.
