Your exactly right. SWAPA does not care about the masses. Look at what they did when the company was going to fire half the pilot group over a shot. All SWAPA was about was trying to be complicit with the media, and management. After all, the President of SWAPA is proabably going to have a pretty good gig over at the GO when he's done at Empire Central. He can then wear some of his cool looking clothes and be hip with all the other hipsters over there.

I was initially thinking this VPTO thing was a good idea. I've got mil duty I can lean on and be home every night like I did during ETO/EXTO/VSP. After listening to the "podcast" from SWAPA, I'm going to have to say I am now against this offer (in whatever form it takes). This is WAY different than what we were dealing with during COVID-19. This is clearly short-term, unlike COOF, during which we had no clue how long the drought would last.
Green bars should flow. We work under a COLLECTIVE bargaining agreement. However convenient this would have been for me (seniority permitting), I don't want anyone else shouldering the crap lines that will eventually arise when demand suddenly outweighs supply. Perhaps if the company had taken one of the MULTIPLE historical opportunities it had to diversify from Boeing, we wouldn't be discussing this. But here we are.
I hope the BOD receives a 5x5 message on this.
