good thing it's intentional. Wouldn't want to have unintentional opportunities.
it's like early morning originators.
Its just originators. Doesn't matter what time of day.
Its just connections.
Jesus. Is there a VP of acronyms?

Hoover I’m with you. Being out for nearly a year on LOA was a good exercise in reflection. It was the first time I ran out of currency on an airplane in over 30 years and found “hmm I actually have other interests.” LOL.
If they are going to reduce the lines and speak out both sides of their mouth, I’m fine with giving a trip away instead of picking up extra. I have one mortgage and that’s it—time to enjoy life instead of waiting for retirement to do it.
We have resolved to maximize our vacation and travel extensively. Enough of this.

JFC. Yes, the VPOA reports directly to the EVPOA. Look at your OC (org chart). Their budget, while quite large, in no way affects the largest budget in the airline, the department of gate balloon decoration (GBD).

Bruh stop reporting my posts lol. Dead serious. Put your money where your mouth is and get those apps out. Several of us on here have done just that. I don’t understand why anyone in this hiring environment would deal with commuting across the country for years.
If you’ve been here a long time, you’re a Captain, etc…then I get it. Not a clear cut decision in that case.

See you out there. We have Norway coming up. In September we do a week off the coast of Dubrovnik (boat), followed by touring some folks through Croatia into Slovenia. We did Elsace in early December, did Tuscany in May.

If block per duty period is about what it is historically, based on the amount of flying, they won't do much. DPOS doesn't care about RON's. That is key in productivity. If you add DH's to it, you won't get the high block per duty period. We would like that but the company won't. It's just a pure cost.
When this contract was TA'd, this wasn't even in the top 100 things I wanted fixed. Same with assign seating. Both provisions were really not at least on my radar. Company has been flexing bases for fifty plus years. Its a key productivity tool that has its advantages to the company because of the single fleet type. Now they are exploiting it. That ain't right. Scary part is they are willing to pay for moving. This will not be fixed by flight ops. This has to go to BJ or AW. SWAPA has nothing to stand on contractually.
Company reports after the bell. They normally give guidance on what the fleet plans are for the year. Boeing reported yesterday and gave some pretty good guidance on deliveries and color on the 7 and 10. The 10 has been giving TIA and it's flying a lot. Boeing now believes the 7 will be certified in early summer vs late summer and the 10 in late summer. Boeing has on their books to deliver four max 7's in December to SWA. It will be nice to hear SWA side of this. we'll see.

I hear you on the productivity...but our lines have been trash since the Max grounding. You might have a high block day on part of the trip, but I haven't had a trip beat the rig without LCO in months (I've been on rsv so might be part of it). I remember back in '17/18 you could have a 17 day off line that paid over 100....everything now is basically 87/89.

I gotcha now. Something else to think about is the way our network is changing. SWA of the old had a very consistent schedule. Seven days a week. Made for very productive pairings. Stage lengths were shorter which helped with the density of pairings. That had a heavy block per duty period. Some days like Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday’s, the schedule foot print is smaller now, which will create “gaps” in sequencing. Throw in RE’s and transcons, it creates a density of trip problem. The revenues outways the costs. So they do it. Specifically DEN, it seems to be really more of a higher percentage of ICO’s then the system average. If it’s successful, I can see it spreading to other mega’s. It is amazing it peaked with over 300 peak flights per day and this summer it’s going to be around 294 peak flights per day, yet with way less “DEN crews”. Literally a 3% reduction in flights but a sunami DEN displacements.
