Regarding your pay cut-I say put up or shut up. You prove to me with specific numbers you're not making more and I'll prove to you, you are. You and I can't do that without talking specific numbers. You aren't going to do that because then you won't be able to continue to complain.
You now have a career where as before you had a question mark. Sorry, that's the reality. As far as being bought you need to take that up with the AAI CEO that sold you off. Remember, it was an acquisition, not a merger. And, as you love to tell us, Gary Kelly threatened you. So, if that's true then it must've meant he really didn't want you that bad.
RSW pilots gave up a TON of RSW seniority to guys that didn't run the same gauntlet as them, didn't leave other high-paying jobs to start at the bottom at first year pay. You guys hit the freaking lottery and didn't even have to buy a ticket and I'll gladly remind you of that, in person, if and when you start complaining about getting screwed. It'll make for a great 4-day.
ps, if you're the gentleman that jumpseated on my plane from DAL-STL and waited until altitude to start his carping:You're welcome for the ride.

Not an airline guy but was reading this thread out of boredom. Whackmaster, even if you take a minimal pay cut for a couple years, won't you be getting a very nice raise when you upgrade again? Won't you be making hundreds of thousands of dollars more over the rest of your career? Or am I mistaken? Also, how long do most of the guys getting bumped over a seat think you'll be there before you upgrade again?

You guys are all pilots, no more, no less. The whole "We are superior pilots, therefore bow down before our awesomness and take what we deign to allow you to have" is one of the swallower arguments. Interestingly enough, it usually seems to come from the younger pilots who fear stagnation.

I gotta say, that whole post just reeks of hubris, even after being moderated. I do have one question though. What "high paying jobs" did SWA pilots leave to start at the bottom?
Just curious because of the 15 or so SWA pilots I know personally, they all were either regional or military pilots. The same as all AAI pilots I've met.

Additionally, no mention is being made of the fact that prior to the agreement AAI pilots made the claim that they were entitled to our seniority because they were "bringing planes" with the deal.
Not any more. So how bout all the pilots that were supposed to be on the B717 strike a deal with DAL to go with them over there? I'm sure they'll be more than glad to give you relative. You think?

Conversely, if SWA was to dump 100 737s instead of the 717s, would you be OK with RSWrs being treated like the AAI guys as your logic is dictating? After all, in that senario you wouldn't be bringing airplanes to the deal.

They were BOUGHT pure and simple. Their CEO sold them. Not the other way around. The majority of their planes are now going to DAL.
You think the juniority of RSW pilots wouldn't like to get a re-vote based on that?
Like I stated earlier-Keep making outlandish claims. Look at the Frontier guys that turned down the staple. Think they'd like another crack at the plate?

You sure do seem to have a lot of anger vis a vis the merger and AAI pilots. Just curious, how junior at SWA are you?
Pull out your psych 101 and see what it says about people who are so infatuated with others they can't keep their noses out of other peoples business- Then get back to me.
I have many friends at EVERY major and there is one thing they've all stated to me at one point in time. "I should have gone to SWA back when you did".

I did a cursory check, and while it is an international airport in NAME, I could find no result for a search for customs, immigrations or international arrivals. I guess one could depart to a foreign destination, but I could find no evidence that one could arrive from one.

Nice try but I did take OCS and management tactics 101. There is no anger in my post, merely stating the facts. You want to try that schism on someone? Talk to your friend WHACKMASTER. He seems to be the one that has a problem accepting his current status.
