BTW- you're welcome for the career position you couldn't obtain through the front door and the RSW seniority. You'll have to send your thank you's to:

Mr. Gary Kelly

NEWSFLASH: I never applied to SWA (like the vast majority of my coworkers at AirTran), because I had no interest in doing the TX shuffle. As much as you can't possibly conceive of the idea, a great many pilots have grander aspirations than doing four legs a day in a Guppy.

As for GK, I have many words for him but none of them involve "Thank you" or anything close to it.

Just a question, but how in the hell does your head even fit through the L1 door?

So doing two legs a day, many of which are red-eyes, in a Guppy with an even uglier paint job than SWA, for a management that spat on you at every chance they got, for 2/3rds the pay, was somehow career nirvana? Hmmm....

Once again, look who's talking: the egomaniac who still can't get over the prospect of not being a Captain even when it means a pay raise.

Are you high or something?! Where do you get this "pay raise" garbage from. I'm taking a PAY CUT when I downgrade at SW. You think your F/Os make more than our Cptns?

As for the Cptn seat issue, it's not about being an egomaniac. It's about your union and CEO conspiring a plan to deliberately #(*# us and threaten us with our jobs unless we voted "YES" to the second POS that was forced down our throats. You're damn right I'm livid about losing my seat AND the way your union and company handled the SLI.

Red-eyes aren't actually that bad and many of us don't mind them. Paint scheme? Who gives a %^#! what color the outside of the jet is painted. Honestly?

Wrt our management, at least we knew where we stood with them, unlike the COMPLETELY hypocritical "ONE LUV" culture that smiles to your face, pats you on the back, welcomes you aboard and then proceeds to publicly threaten your job if you don't agree to an abomination of a ISL. HYPOCRISY!!! So who's management ultimately spat on us the most? Yours or mine? Newsflash: none of us will ever fully trust GK or his management team and we'll always hold a deep-seated grudge.

As for the 2/3s pay? I'll give you that. A three year upgrade and sipping all-inclusive cocktails at the swim up bars in the Carib this winter certainly is nothing to complain about though. I can't wait to be flying to Amarillo

Tsquare is that you? You sound a little different but yet there are so many similarities. Oh wait, it is in fact the same whiner that has graced us with his opinion for so long. Having read all of his posts but having not replied in a long time to any, you can guess how much I care anymore.

Marvin,

About you I do care and since you have my info please let me know if anyone at SWA ever disappoints.

My apologies to Tsquare!

Always there but not finding it necessary to reply very much,

The Oscar

You really should take my earlier advice and just quiet down until you are on the SWA side, and actually have some idea of what you are talking about. You look like a bigger fool every time you post.

...and yes, I do think SWA F/Os often make more than ATN captains. Talk to some of your buds that have crossed the bridge. You too will eventually discover that a W-2 is made from much more than a pay rate.

Marv,

Fair enough. Good post. More info than I needed but no problem on my end. When we meet in person you can decide on the "tool" comment.

Whackmaster? I'm thinking you're not going to make it out of basic indoc. Still, feel free to share your opinions about the RSW as frequently as possible and with as many RSWP's that you encounter. You'll go far.

I HAVE talked to a lot of my "buds" who have crossed over and downgraded. Almost universally they say it's been a pay cut. Unless they're super senior in the right seat so that they have the ability to play the system a lot, they're making less than what they made as an AirTran cptn. I could be wrong, but I thought that was considered a pay cut.

I'll actually be bidding a lower percentage in my seat in my new SW base as an FO than I'm bidding in my AT base as a cptn. Like 20% less

It WILL be a pay cut.

Regarding your pay cut-I say put up or shut up. You prove to me with specific numbers you're not making more and I'll prove to you, you are. You and I can't do that without talking specific numbers. You aren't going to do that because then you won't be able to continue to complain.

You now have a career where as before you had a question mark. Sorry, that's the reality. As far as being bought you need to take that up with the AAI CEO that sold you off. Remember, it was an acquisition, not a merger. And, as you love to tell us, Gary Kelly threatened you. So, if that's true then it must've meant he really didn't want you that bad.

RSW pilots gave up a TON of RSW seniority to guys that didn't run the same gauntlet as them, didn't leave other high-paying jobs to start at the bottom at first year pay. You guys hit the freaking lottery and didn't even have to buy a ticket and I'll gladly remind you of that, in person, if and when you start complaining about getting screwed. It'll make for a great 4-day.

ps, if you're the gentleman that jumpseated on my plane from DAL-STL and waited until altitude to start his carping:You're welcome for the ride.
