2017 Hiring Numbers?
#21
I think it's more like they want to have 11,000 pilots in the next 3-5 and are striving for that goal. I doubt they are lying. Sure it'll be tough but they are working to revamp the training schedule and hiring instructors.
A buyout is another discussion that probably will happen also

Yes, in Rocky's interviewee speech, he said over 600 pilots next year, goal is 11,000 for expansion. They have a lot of places they want to expand to but are waiting until they are ready to "saturate" these new markets. He said their limitation on hiring pilots right now is the limited sim availability with 11 operating 23 hours a day.

The term loser enters my mind for some reason. That would be you Whack! I have flown with quite a few FAT's. Great folks for the most part. You however are the only one who I am glad to see downgraded and for the time being in the right seat. God help our FO's when you upgrade again.

I am so hurt that we can't keep this civil. You never seem to understand that when you look in the mirror.......you might be part of the problem. Post after post on APC you act like only you and you alone have all the answers. Wow, living in your world must be awesome.

Here's better question. Why the frak do we need 18 simulators for in the new building when we only have 11 now?
And before one of the jetBlue conspiracy nuts starts explaining that we need it to train their pilots... JetBlue has a sim facility in Orlando that is far and away better than ours. 8 bays, plus 2 full motion cabin sims, a ditching pool, a cafeteria, a company hotel... and no pictures on the wall that make it look like Grandpa's attic where he keeps all of his Air Force junk.
So even if the conspiracy theory turned out to be true (I don't buy it) there's no reason to build a bunch of new space for sims right away. They could continue to use the JetBlue facility until they decide whether it is better to grow their facility, grow ours,or use both.

The expansion is up to 24 sim bays not 18.
