So basically what I am getting is when the company lets Jyri participate in the negotiations nothing gets accomplished. So basically the company uses him as a stall tactic. I am sure the Union knows this, and hopefully the Mediator is starting to pick up on this little game.

I support the NC but this latest fastread was just horrible."While meaningful progress was made...." is the equivalent of "I think you're really cute and nice but...." Nobody wants to hear that.

I read FastReads from other MECs and NCs and the tone cranks up as the talks stall, why this isnt happening here is anyones guess.

It now feels that pilots are getting rocked to sleep with the song of apathy being played over and over again.

Maybe our NC needs to start looking in Hawaiians back yard and take some pointers. Their management was hostile as well. Somehow they got a TA. Life's great mysteries.

Did you read the union updates on not using your cell phone or not cooperating with the company on sick calls?

It's the same story folks, there's no reason to give us a deal! Metal moves and our performance keeps getting better.

Did you read the fastread? Nowhere in it does it say meaningful progress. Quite the opposite. Perhaps it's time for new reading glasses?

Prior updates said exactly that, nice to see the change in tone.

I agree that the tone is changing albeit not as much as I would want.

I think they need to move toward bearing their teeth a wee more in the comms with the pilots nipping on the line.

What did Hawaiian do differently?

They recently set up a strike center, had a lot more media press, and made it all the way to a cooling off period. Maybe our NC needs to push for this. Our union is like the battered wife of an alcoholic, we just keep giving them more and more chances. We celebrate every time some crumbs get thrown our way.

Ooohhh GRRRRR. That will show mean old management. This is the union leadership that *****d us out and sold us down river during the famous meltdown. Get something done. Just follow the Hawaiian blue print and stop apologizing for a soft bellied approach. I want results and press coverage NOW
Edit: I retract some of that snark. The fast read was a step in the right direction. Now we should be doing everything in our means that is legal. I feel like my union dues are being wasted on a soft approach.
