I think FedEx is 6hrs min calendar day and no average. Fly a two day with 7hrs day one and 1hr day two you get 7+6
I could be wrong but I recall WN having a 6.5 hour min day. Try that one on for size! Talk about efficiency of pairings and days off.

Reading the contract, if 1 day of duty on the next bid is scheduled during the transition, the day(s) are released and pay protected, correct? I'm on reserve next month in FLL and I have a few of them. Thanks!

The conflict resolution can be no longer than 6 calendar days, so string the two months together in a line. Start covering days to make a max of 6 days on; any combination is possible. IOW, they could drop the entire days on in the current month, they could drop the R days in the new month, or they could go 3/3, 4/2, etc. (depending on when your current month trips fly through your base).

Congrats! You just won one of the few battles you can currently win here. Enjoy your free days off and make sure you raise a glass and say "cheers to Monahan, wherever you are!"

Not enough information on what your transition period looks like?

A chief pilot called an ACY FO and pressured him in to flying ACY-MCO-ACY on a day off. He reluctantly did it. Not cool, in my opinion.

Sorry, Chief. I've been taking the restrictor plate off of the panty dropper all morning. Ain't fit to fly. You can thank Mr. Pabst for that. Nice chat, bye.

How does this happen? How does a pilot pick up the phone, on a day off, and allow himself to be bullied into coming into work on a day off?

Good news is this means the company has resorted to bully tactics to cover flights, bad news is pilots are falling for it.

6 days max?? Crappy. I didn't know that. I'm on from the 28th till the 4th. 7 days total.

No, this is good. They have to clean it up to get you to no more than 6 on. Either dropping an entire trip in this month or dropping a trip in next month and replacing back trips or R days to get you to 6 (in the next month only).

There are nice examples in the contract...read it. Read the entire section while you are at it.
