You are correct I don't work for Spirit but I have worked for my fair share of terrible companies in this industry over the years and your poor attitude and extraordinary willingness to put others down without knowing anything about them tells me I have seen many pilots just like yourself come and go in my time. I sincerely hope when it comes time for you to think about moving on to bigger and better companies you will leave the narrow minded attitude behind.
There are many ways a person can serve their fellow pilots and I have done just that. I have done more for my peers on both sides of the table than you can possibly imagine. You can only do so much for a cause when you limit yourself to one side or the other..it is this adversarial relationship that got Spirit into this mess in the 1st place. I am in no way saying it was the pilots fault or the companies fault..both share equal responsibility and it will be a team effort if progress is to be made. If all you Spirit pilots out there want to continue sticking it to the company that's fine go right ahead just don't be angry when they turn around and file a court order for you to stop. and lastly I am not trying to tell you how you should feel..I am not forcing you to read my posts you are welcome to move on you will not hurt my feelings. I am just a fellow pilot who has been reading APC blogs for years and saw a group in trouble. I have been in this industry longer than most of you have been alive so I am just here to give my opinion. My hope is to provide a different point of view but make no mistake my end game is the same as yours my friend. You are the future of this industry I only ask you learn a little from the past rather than repeating it. You may not like what I have to say it may not be what you want to hear but it is the reality. I have helped this company out many times, I have not attacked anyone online or in person for flying on their days off. If you want to have an adult conversation with me please go ahead and respond to the things I complained about.... And while on the subject, NO, both do not share equal responsibility for the mess Spirit is on. I have read the whole complaint and correct me if I am wrong but nowhere did it actually give a number by which open flying pick-up had gone down, it just stated that pilots used to pick up 4% and now there is a lot of open time not getting picked up. The thing is, at the start of open time there was almost twice as many trips as the month before and reserve coverage was negative for most of the first week. That goes way above my responsibility to solve. Believe it or not I enjoy my job, and because I feel a responsibility for my passengers I still work hard to get the job done. I just wish the people "running" this company would spend more effort in making this a good company and less time telling everyone (pilots, FA's, ground crew) we don't deserve industry average while they make more than their peers. |

It will come out eventually that we had nothing to do with this fiasco. We knew in April that May was going to be jacked up with transition and red/Green Day's. We can already see that June will be short as well! Doesn't take a rocket scientist or a judge to figure that out. Let's abide by the TRO, the rest will happen on its own. Just be safe and do our jobs.

Well if the above is true then I cannot think of anything stupider than a SPA Chokers website and attempts at Pilot intimidation. If the operation was going to fall apart on its own, and it appears it did, Then why give your company any ammunition to fire at you? Why give them an excuse? I don't know if it is too late but you guys should all stop posting anything about this stuff. We at DAL were sued and lost, AMR was sued and lost. Was any of the above fair - Hell no but that is our system. If management is going to let the operation fall apart on its own then be quiet, get out of the way, and let it happen. Do not post material which can and will be used against you. I said it before and I will say it again - the market is on your side. You guys will do very well in the long run despite hitting some apparently self induced speed bumps on the way. Good Luck to the Spirit Pilot group! Scoop |
