So my understanding now is that Spirit runs a Paper Line Bidding system that, when pilots are thinly staffed and poorly paid, can readily lead to significant open time that is hard, if not impossible, to fill. Forget about all of this - update resumes and hustle for a job at one of the big 4. Better pay, work rules, management, treatment. Over the next few years, LCCs and ULCCs are going to get gutted of pilots, just as the regionals have. You will be far, far better off in the long run bailing earlier rather than later.
