yes. I don’t think all bases have them but DFW does.

make sure you submit for reimbursement from the company. It’s their responsibility to provide bars and pins. If they don’t have them, buy them and expense.

You’re going to have a hard time getting non Velcro ones on your jacket, when trying to be in uniform compliance

For those who have already started training, how many days before the start date did you received an email with hotel confirmation and a training timeline?

When I went through, I believe it was 4 days prior to starting class. You will probably hear something Wednesday/Thursday on the week before you start class.

Do the ground instructors no longer touch base with their new hire class before the start date (to make sure no one has any questions about lodging / training materials / last minute questions etc)

Mine sent an email the week before class to assign us study material and make sure we were squared away.

the good ones do. We had MB and he touched base ahead of time and was a fantastic instructor.

Same. I had MB and I’m extremely happy he was my instructor. He cared and was very good at teaching.

I think alllllmost all FOI personnel are great. But he's the best.

I got my velcroes for free from the crew room base admin.

Any word on AQP styled training ? I heard that was under development. Has the training program for new-hires circa 2017 changed drastically, for a 2020 new hire today ?

Cut Above pants color
 

Can someone advise the correct color pants to order from a cut above that match the company pants?

I ordered the company pants. They are terrible. But the blue is very dark and hard to find a good match.

I think they just have 1 blue color: Navy

They have navy and midnight blue

I have the navy trousers from cut above and they match the blazer perfectly

The midnight blue is for United if I remember correctly so navy would be the color.

This is the correct answer. I got that answer from an A Cut Above rep.

On the NK application it asks for instrument and instrument night time. I’ve been flying in the 121 world without logging this.. what do people typically put for these boxes? Any good rules of thumb?

general rule of thumb I’ve seen and used is 1/10th of your total time is approximately IMC.

I still wear wool or a wool blend. Old school

100% Polyester pants like the ones above are not as comfortable to me and look like crap. Always have that shine.
