Sad.
Query, is an airline that’s been in business 28 years really considered a “start up”?

It is when one doesn’t realize there was a Spirit Airlines before one was hired.

I hope your TA has very specific and strong language on how PBS is implemented. It WILL be the deciding factor for QOL. Just ask anyone from Mesa, you have plenty.

If PBS is so awful, why haven't the skygods in Atlanta once put PBS on the chopping block in the last 3 negotiations? Or United? Not one time was it up for discussion to go back to line bidding? Hmmm?? Line bidding at Spirit was the most overrated talking point. You can cry about transition, and reserve drops but our line bidding sucked. I look forward to PBS.

Exactly right! And to the previous poster...this isn't Mesa; so there's no concern of a PBS that looks like Mesa either.

It is not necessarily PBS that is so awful, it is what comes with it. By this I mean that with PBS you no longer ever have conflicts from Month "A" to Month "B". While we gave this up at UA long before FAR 117, I believe that value to the company of PBS now that FAR 117 is here has probably at least doubled. All the additional restrictions that come with FAR 117 make bidding into a conflict much more likely with line bidding today than it was in the past.

If you could have PBS for bidding and force the company to use it to build next month's schedule without regard to what you have in this months schedule (thus allowing conflicts), it would be far and away the greatest system for pilots of all time (way better than the old line bidding).

You’re right, Mesa gets to drop Reserve Days.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
