They also pay their new hire pilots a respectable amount and give them health insurance from day 1. I’d pass on the free hotel.

Unless something changed new hires at DL make $4k a month and their hotel isn’t paid for. After training they are compensated much better.

So, if you stay at a decent hotel, you're only going to net about $1000/mo in training at Delta.

$1750 a month in training. And I doubt the DL boys are Red Roofing it during training to keep the costs down. Even if they manage $70 a night it’s basically a wash with our training pay.

Or you could stay at a crashpad for about $500 like FedEx guys do.

Or you could actually have friends there with actual information. They all rent a big house and share the costs. Less than $1000 a month each.

But sure, defend our absurdly low newhire pay.

$1000 per month. PER DIEM IS NOT INCOME

Not to mention they get to pay for their hotels for indoc and ground only. Not sim or OE.

We get $1000/month for 3 entire months.

But sure it's basically a wash guys.

PS. They get their 401k direct contribution from day 1 on that $4000 as well as health insurance.

It’s not a defense of our training pay, and you’re not the only one with friends there. Not everyone wants to shack up with a bunch of strangers in a house. And I’m well aware of when their actual pay starts.

PS. I know that too.

Amen. More like being critical of Delta for not putting new hires up.
