Back to a training schedule question... The welcome packet talks about "a couple days rest and then start IOE." Reading between the lines a bit from some other statements, it seems that they want new hires to expect to remain in FLL through IOE. Is that what one should plan for and bring uniforms? Was planning not to bring my Luggage Werks pilot roller and pack for the 6 weeks in a larger suitcase. Any insight and knowledge about the process would be helpful. Thanks.

It depends. I’ve heard of some guys having a couple days off and start IOE right away and others have had a week or two before IOE. Depends how backed up they are.

You’ll probably be in contact with Crew Training after your Type ride / LOFT, so you’ll have a better idea what your OE looks likes. You may get move around different base for OE also. They could very well send you home and give you a few days heads up, when and where your OE will be.

Don't take any uniforms. That way you actually HAVE to go home....
If you want to. They tried to get me to start OE the day after my LOFT. I politely said I have no uniform and had to go back home and reorganize. I got to go home for 7-8 days before OE.

They have me a month off to recover from training. After a few visits to my therapist, lots of crying, and some heavy drinking, I’m back and The fog in my head has cleared. Welcome to Spirit!

I went home for 11 days after my loft! I almost didn't come back! This is the least of your problems! You need to plow through indoc and sims. One day at a time! It's ugly!

It really is a comfort to know that when you’re on ioe and a flight cancels, that spirit saved a few dollars on the cost of the fo.

How long is the training process typically? Day one indoc to/through IOE?

Is there a training repayment agreement if someone leaves?
