Using your argument Spirit A320 pilots are undercutting UA A320 pilots...

Yeah right!!!
As a NK pilot: yes, we do.

If enough people are willing to do a job for a given wage, then that given wage IS the market rate.

Legacy airline wages are ABOVE market. That’s why the US legacies drown in applications.

As you can see from my other post in here, I totally agree on the pay issue. That said, a scab is someone who crosses the picket line and performs struck work at a company where the workers are on a legal strike. Using the S word for other things will just devalue it.
Maybe we need a word for people who bring the industry down by accepting below standard rates at crappy companies (incrustation/blackleg anyone?) with no chance of improvement (Norwegian/skybus/any 36N cargo company/wow/wizz)

(and another for pilots trying to improve conditions at crappy companies (Ryanair/frontier/spirit) (nodergree/dui?))

Ryanair should not be in that parenthesis
...they have no work rules!
Is that an accurate statement of NK pilots?
Rejects that can't get a job else where because of no degree/DUI?
I' am at the wrong place then.
We agree on the subject of EU, UAE and Asian airlines.
Most U.S. union protected work rules, do not exist even at the best airlines overseas.
Another reason why contract negotiations should NEVER include work rule concessions.

No degree and DUI’s.? That’s a pretty stupid statement bud. I have a masters, no criminal record and I’m at Spirit. Love it here and will stay, no desire whatsoever to be at a legacy.

Cheers.

Was mostly sarcastic about the perception other posters here have about us, not trying to get anyone fired up, apologies.

Ryanair has no rules, but finally some pilots are trying to improve that.

No, not an accurate statement, just been a long time waiting for a contract that is still lagging, and during that period hiring minimums were adjusted quite far downward

Yessir about work rule concessions

it is not a flag of convenience carrier either. They are using an European Union AOC and American carriers due to open skies agreement can open bases in Europe if they so choose and fly point to point in Europe which EU carriers cannot do in the US.

Open skies allows EU carriers and US carriers to fly between any two points in Europe and the US and the agreement is actually more in the US carriers favour.

So this argument that they are a flag of convenience and causing job losses in the US and wage reduction is an absolute rubbish argument.

Its called competition and to wish your fellow pilots a failed career which results in their families suffering is pretty pathetic!

Well said!

My cousin is a mortgage broker in SW Florida. He was doing a mortgage for a NAI pilot. I think his actual employer was OAJ or something. Not Omni but the official US company that paid this pilot wasn’t listed as NAI but he was a 787 Captain making $97,000 a year.

If they don’t think that hurts the rest of the industry, they’re crazy.
