Cry me a river, man. You think you have it bad? What about me? I remember trying to swap a trip on my line with a better trip in open time, only to be denied because of that one red day on the grid that was there because of a reserve guy dropping a middle day so as to make himself unusable.Thats how you screwed me.

You reserve guys who were dropping middle days screwed yourselves. Once word got out about this sweet little loophole in the contract, guys were on that like ugly on a monkey. Not only did the company notice when a lot of their reserve coverage became useless, but line holders like me noticed when it became nearly impossible to trade trips with open time because of that one red day on the grid. Thats why you get no sympathy from me.

Being on reserve blows, low pay and being tagged with really “interesting” trips. Can you really blame someone on reserve for trying to improve their QOL by working the system? I’m sorry you didn’t get that sweet trip you wanted but it’s a lot better than being stuck on reserve and making 35k a year. If you’re upset now with your inability to improve your QOL just wait until PBS arrives. BTW welcome to APC.

Oh please you’re assuming everyone on reserve checkerboarded their schedules. It clearly never occurred to you that I might not have been one of those people, I did drop days for sure, but not checked board style, and only so I could get time off for family events. But hey it’s all good for you now since reserves really can’t drop much.

flyingpuma1, Alphafloor THANK YOU!
Lou Turk...
I have been on RES for 6 years and NEVER did the checkerboard you are referring to!
You are just looking for someone to blame.
The opponent is NOT your fellow pilots, it's Bendover and BOB you misguided fool.

SIX years?? Is this what I can expect if I come to Spirit? Spirit was one of my top picks to try for, but that worries me!

Maybe not? Not sure how long it is in ACY to get a line. Heck I can barely (only because people bid down) hold a relief line after two years (not acy)

It was a choice to upgrade in ACY, I think the original question was about not being a line holder for the first 6 years.

5 years in, sat reserve 2 months as a new-hire, bypassed upgrade 4 months, never had to do reserve as captain (had reserve as a captain 2 months later on because needed specific days of, not because I couldn't hold a line).
