I can take ball busting as much as I can give it....and you're right...its fun when I'm bored. I don't want to actually p*ss anyone off or make myself sound like a pr*ck though. I can assume you, I am not.

I have a lot to learn still and value the more experienced guys info and advice on here. When the time comes, I may just take you up on that offer!

Sorry to OP for derailing the thread.

just talk on the radio like you got your private more than a week ago. The number of pilots I’m running into that literally can not function on the radio is mind blowing. I remember my first day in a jet at an airline and I don’t remember the radio being a struggle at all. The littlest things like calling for push seem to be next to impossible for more than a few these days and it’s maddening.

The writing down every step- pause- slowly key the mike- then read back something wrong. Driving me insane. Just get the instructions back!! You can’t read back three steps without writing it down?!

Im halfway to the gate before these fools are done embarrassing us on the radio

I'd say 9 out of 10 guys I fly with don't check in with ground and/or approach with the ATIS letter, causing the controller to ask if we have it. Why is that so hard?

my favorite is when ATC asks what your Mach number is, The pilot tells them, then they add all this extra unnecessary chatter by asking what mach they need, as if ATC is going to keep it a secret from you…. Like why the F do you waste your breath with that extra sentence?

That doesn't really have anything to do with inexperience. Thats been asked as long as I can remember. I think a lot of pilots pick up a lot of "pilot lingo" over time on the radio and sometimes it gets worked into their own personal bank. I just hope "only a nibble" doesn't get worked in when describing bumps! Heard that one a few times.......uggh!

Hows that? We’ve got a lot of things in our CBA that pilots at AA and UA would love to have.

I do apologize I should’ve clarified that I was changing up the subject a little bit on “ATC phrases that annoy me”. I agree it’s nothing with inexperience.

No one is forcing you to stay here…. You’re free to leave and go back to your regional then. Enjoy!

Ed Force One 04-27-2023 01:58 PM

That's just the thing. I want to stay here and it would not benefit me at my age or seniority to go anywhere else.

When people like me say things like that, it's because we are fighting for a better contract because this is our careers. We are not interested in chasing greener grass, we want to make our own yard better. For ourselves and the rest of you. So don't tell me to "Go back to my regional" (I can't) or "Go to Delta." Don't you want to make it better for yourselves here too?

Go back and reread what I said… For the poster who compared our CBA to a regional is laughable. I called them on that. I love what Spirit is and have confidence it’ll only get better with the JCBA. I have other options right now but am really leaning towards staying put here.

Dont confuse "wanting to make it better" vs running a fools errand. 69% of us felt this CBA was better than the alternate unknown, 31% felt the other way. But just as youre tired of hearing "go somewhere else," I am tired of hearing "Dont you want to make this place better?"

Do you still actually believe that? With the benefit of hindsight do you still actually believe they wouldn’t have come back to the table with something better?

I promise not to turn this into a HAHA see I told you thing. It seems I don’t fly with that many yes voters, but the one who said he did vote yes straight up told me if he had it to do again he would have voted no… and I hadn’t even told him how I voted.

There’s still a chance something happens. Q1 report says that NEO engine issues and pilot attrition is big factor for our loss. Maybe they offer something else to help stem attrition? Who knows

Nothing else is coming. Only thing they’d do is raise first year pay since we gave that away in our “non-concessionary” agreement.

Show me on the doll where the facts hurt you.

Jeez, what a sensitive little girl you are.

First day on the Internet?

But yeah, I guess cause we're a "major" we shouldn't do things like door closed parking brake release for the clock, 200% holiday pay, automatic 125% for anything over 80 hours, automatic 150% for anything over 90 hours, move reserve days around, etc etc I can go on but my God how dare I want to improve things here...

Can we please get back to the original question of what are the junior bases at Sprit right now? I’m genuinely interested because I may be putting in an app soon.

LAS and FLL are the two most junior bases. Everyone gets LAS on their first drop. MCO seems to be going senior with only 2-3 vacancies a month.

As of now, Can hold what you want within 6 months with exception of DFW (8 months?). YMMV

LAS/DFW/FLL/IAH were all awarded to people in my class when we had our second bid during training. There's a new domicile vacancy bid monthly

There is so much info in these forums. The answers are in here.. Some analogy about vinegar.

Hey anyone know why we don’t do international flights out of ATL? Seem like we could do well against Delta.

If there are any grammar police here I’m sorry I’m kinda in a hurry and don’t have time to proof read. And yes my phone does autocorrect sometimes and it’s not always accurate. So please let me off with a warning this time.

hey that grammar police position isn’t to be taken lightly. Some people really do sleep better at night knowing they made a different in the anonymous online forums. However I can help, I’m happy to have him indulge me.

Bid packages are sent out monthly which contain the seniority lists for each seat. The monthly bid awards in Flica list all line/reserve awards for each pilot and then you can crosscheck with the seniority list to get DOHs.
