I am in the mix of reading the Spirit and Frontier boards in hopes of finding the best route to living in Florida within driving distance to base. I am a regional CA and looking to move from the western US (current commuter). Would you all suggest waiting to see how this JetBlue thing works out? Assuming all goes through would the Florida bases instantly go senior as they are with JB? I know a lot of interpolation here but any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming the merger goes through, as of a particular date everyone will be locked into their current base. So if you get in pre merger you will remain in your base unless they decide to reduce a base in the future. However if a future vacancy exists, it is more likely to be filled by a someone senior to you than junior, so it could be a while before you move up the list. If you are driving to work, that’s not such a bad thing, but important to think about. If you wait until after the merger, depending which base bidding system we use it could be difficult to highly unlikely to see a senior base. B6 uses class drops, NK does a monthly vacancy bid and the new hires get what is left over. |

There's another great airline in ATL with a massive operation that ain't going anywhere, ever. And now is probably the best time in aviation history to try and get on with them. |

I don’t think I have the requirements for them yet but I do have my app in. I’m only on 200 hours 121 time.

There is a lot of hyperbole about the current state of things. I’ll avoid all that to not derail from your question.
