Should we call it a 16:45 overnight?

And the fact we gave it up for free,
Ugh

So look, none of us in this industry truly know anything until it happens and you can’t rule anything out....but we just installed another brand new a 320 sim, I believe we have 6 or 7 we wouldn’t keep adding stuff like this if we didn’t have a long term commitment to the plane. Lots of other stuff can happen, delivery slots can be swapped, options can be traded, but for delta to just give 100 planes and 100 options to a competitor is just likely not going to happen.

I heard it is going to happen.

The new hotel policy under the new contract (and post PBS) has created far more short stay hotels as the company builds shorter layovers into the pairings.
Part of the savings the company has realized with the short stay hotels is the reduced need for private transportation since short stay hotels usually provide van service.
We’re also seeing far more short stay hotels which are not full service, meaning to hotel restaurant/bar and fake food for breakfast (powdered eggs, meat-like bacon).

Just because it’s s short stay the hotel quality should not be reduced. BOS short sucks. PIT short sucks. DFW short sucks. CMH short sucks.

All Hotels weather long or short should be full service and at least a Crowne Plaza/Marriott/Hilton/Sheraton quality.

This was my point. The only reason we had better hotels before was because crappy hotels weren’t available at the long locations. I like shorter drives but the hotel quality language sucks and it’s showing now. Short or long layover should be the same quality hotel and it should be 4-5 stars only

Maybe we can use Delta’s NEOs as a place to sleep at night.

In SLP I’d consider it

Almost half way into the month and still no aircraft order announcement as promised in investors call. Can’t say that I’m surprised. I do wonder how investors feel though....being lead on and on about a new order and growing the airline.
