What company store?
|
We actually already had A321NEO orders (I believe for 10), but they swapped them for 320NEOs in 2015-ish...

That model has been available forever. We did have the 321neo on order and then was converted to 320's.

PARIS: Delta to take higher-weight A220
| 18 JUNE, 2019 | SOURCE: FLIGHT DASHBOARD | BY: DAVID KAMINSKI-MORROW | PARIS US operator Delta Air Lines has become the first to select the higher maximum take-off weight version of the Airbus A220, as it expands its orders for the twinjet by another five. Delta already has 50 A220-300s on order plus 40 of the smaller A220-100. But it is ordering another five A220-100s, taking its total commitment to the former Bombardier CSeries to 95 aircraft. NTA C Airbus recently disclosed that it was increasing the MTOW of both versions of the aircraft by nearly 2.3t, stretching the range by 450nm. Delta has become the first to select this new higher-weight option for its entire fleet from 2020. It placed its original order for 75 A220s – then the CSeries – in 2016, before hiking it to 90 last year. The aircraft are all powered by the Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engine. |

Um, this is the Spirit forum. The Delta forum is a few up from us if you were wondering. Otherwise I’m not sure why we are to care about a Delta increased weight 220 order.
Foreshadowing? And since when do these threads follow the OP a 100%? |
When Airbus announced this version a few days ago they emphasized higher seating density vs more range.
The A220 higher gross weight version is the new A319neo flex cabin. Think about what this plane could do going transcontinental or further south. |

come on, I'm just trying to spread juicy rumors on the internets.
We're announcing nothing, as usual. Or maybe we'll announce another upgrade to the airline, not complete it or extend the deadline indefinitely? I present Wifi, uniform, paint jobs as examples. |

Exactly. Don't forget that we announced a new jet bridge for ORD L11 three years ago and it just recently was installed.

I’ll do you one better, 5 years ago they announced straps behind the Ca seat to secure a bag on non-2 jump planes. Instead we have those ridiculous straps that nobody can use

The MAX issues have Boeing upside down. The NMA launch we be delayed until the MAX is back in the air.
Airbus launched the A321 XLR to deal with the NMA. Who knows if Boeing will even develop the NMA considering the market share Airbus is getting and bad press Boeing is getting. Any aircraft order for Spirit has become very complicated given all the various factors. It may be some time before any order is announced. |
I wonder if Boeing will significantly delay the 797 for the time being. They have to fix and prove once again that the MAX is a good aircraft, they are also trying to finish the 777X and they had a few issues with the Air Force tanker. I don´t know if their BOD would be wanting to sink so much capital on a brand new clean sheet aircraft.

American just ordered 50 A321 XLR, Jetblue just ordered some. I read an article that said Delta was looking at the A321 XLR.
Boeing may have to concede the 757 replacement market to Airbus while they try to fix the MAX. The 797 might be a pipe dream at this point. Hope not but Airbus is taking the orders so far. |
Everyone keeps putting in orders except us. Just don’t see how we get Airbuses in 2022 now.

Or they order mostly A220’s
|
Or perhaps we're just the ALK of the 2020s that doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up.

I think we know exactly what they want to be. Just working on getting the best deal possible. It’ll come, we knew an announcement at Paris was a long shot.

Wanna bet Boeing is negotiating super hard for a big MAX order? Nobody thought IAG would order 200 MAX to replace a big block of older A320s at BA (Gatwick) and at Vueling (all-320 LCC operator out of Spain and Italy owned by IAG: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vueling). We are talking complete narrowbody fleet makeovers from Airbus to Boeing - and Vueling apparently operates 120 A320/21s....
|
To not have an order ready at Paris makes me think Boeing is a real possibility. Maybe they’re waiting to announce the order once the planes not grounded. Maybe better PR then ordering a plane that right now is “dangerous” in the public’s eye.

I can’t imagine we would waste money on WiFi and interior refresh on the Airbus. Just to fleet swap to 737. My money is staying on Airbus. 220s and 321 XLR. Anything NEO
The June investor presentation says WiFi by 2020 end and fleet refresh. So that seems like their current plan |

Boeing needs more confidence-inspiring, big wins like the surprise IAG deal for the beleaguered MAX program. |

Allegedly the super sweet deal
offered for the Max’s would only be for a fleet swap. |
