yeah, Hopefully DL, AA, UAL all get amazing new contracts and no one will come here anymore and people will leave. I'm updating my apps again. No point to upgrade here anymore and sit reserve forever, my AA buddy makes more in total comp. as 4 year FO than our 6 year CAs and its only going to get further apart. This airline is really going to struggle to grow in the next few years, unless they really up the ante. but hey! here's a high five!
also, p.s. last article about spirit growth and new order did say that Uncle Teddy bear said announcement might not be this summer but Q4 this year....

It’s the principal. It took us 6 weeks to notice. What if it had taken two years. They do it as long as they can get away with. I’ve had hotels literally tell me they won’t give me a room on short notice because spirit doesn’t pay the bills. We had to do a union audit of the healthcare to find out we were paying 7% increases when the cost of the plans werent going up 7% or more. Yet the company took our money and have corrected the mistake on our last pay check but still have our two years of overpayments. And they would’ve kept our money if we weren’t unionized and able to do our own audit. This per diem thing is no mistake.
Why don’t they want to go to expedited arbitration on this pbs issue? We can lose or gain just the same is them. The answer: they just don’t want to pay the rigs the agreed to so they want to stall and keep our money as long as possible with no consequence. But hey all the station managers got to rah rah at the C-suite dressing up as funny characters and dance on stage. “Culture”

Some things deserve rants and some things deserve we rolls. This is the latter.

When I got on here I was up front on AA out of PHX. I told him I was staring NK in a couple weeks. First thing out of his mouth was “excellent” they have tremendous work rules and QOL. He told me stuff that was hard to believe concerning AA domestic rules. He didn’t elaborate but said the International AA guys it was quite different for. I can’t speak for United or Delta, but I’m still certain you can’t manipulate your schedules and drop as freely as you do here.
I get it’s a legacy and it has more to offer equipment/flying wise etc, but to me the value here is your QOL and life style. My friends at Spirit have absolutely zero stress getting time off for anything. I have one friend that vacations 4/6 times a year. You drop one trip and have over a week off (worst case). There is a hell of a lot to be said for lifestyle.
To me, going to a legacy that offering $20-30K more a year, but not giving you the ability to drop and freely live your life isn’t worth it. I came here for QOL. Nearly everyone in my class did for the same reason.
Everyone has different priorities.

I’m with you on PBS rigs and the other stuff, but this is such a small amount of money and easily explained by incompetence over malfeasance. And literally 99.9% of the pilot group missed nary a cent.

The track record isn’t one of incompetence. It’s one of calculated moves to stick it to the pilots in an effort to save money no matter what. They do it to us, they do it to vendors. It’s a pattern. Am I going to lose sleep over 5 cents in per diem over a month and a half? No but it was contractually agreed upon and I expect follow through. It’s not about the per diem, it’s that it’s just one more thing and using the word “forgot” is irritating. They didn’t forget.
Update: PBS MOU is agreed upon without arbitration. Hopefully that’s a good sign. Now we get to see what’s in it.

If it’s incompetence is it acceptable? Were our healthcare overpayments for two years incompetence or theft?

Again. Eye roll worthy. Not worth a rant.

I think that total I was shorted was like $3.00. So they probably saved $6k with this oversight. Which is to say that the panties in a wad over this is probably not called for. It’s far more likely that someone dropped that extra penny or whatever it is when entering data than some nefarious plane to save $6k. Or $10k if it’s 2 pennies.
This place nets about $1M a day. Put it in perspective.
