I know through icims you can update your information. But I don’t know if that transfers to current job apps through the website.

Got hired earlier this month. 4100 TT, 1100 PIC but, there were a select few guys in my interview group with slightly less than 3k, and there was a couple with no turbine time.

Out of curiosity, what type of class dates are they offering you?

Interview on 4/26. Class date 7/15

Knobcrk1 06-02-2019 10:07 PM

The app has been “under review” for like 4 months now. I’m assuming that’s normal?

Yes, mine was under review since the new website went up, then after they call you it goes to "hidden", and a couple of weeks after I took a class date it went to "offer accepted"

Halon1211 06-03-2019 12:27 PM

Lots of hiring coming our way. Just announced BNA.

SLC, OKC, UIO, ICT to be announced later this week.

A321LR NEO to be announced later this month.

We're all just hoping DAL is announced, the rest is fluff. ;)

Really??? That’d be sweet considering I live in OKC and start at Spirit soon.

I know what you're thinking, but it probably won't connect DFW-OKC if that is what you are alluding to. We aren't in the short haul business.

Don’t care about that. AA all ready has 9 flights a day plus it’s only a 2:30 drive. Just would be nice to at least have somewhat of a non rev option for the family without having to drive to Dfw.

Sherpa 06-03-2019 03:51 PM

Try the leisure revenue option on Spirit when traveling with family, way less stressful.

This guy has claimed to have inside info that does not play out for awhile. New cities are one of the most closely protected pieces of info; right next to the airplane order and Halon is not an informed source.

Good to know, thanks

So 1 of 5 cities announced today but the rest later this week? Yeah... that makes sense.

A few A321 Neos announced before the huge growth announcement later this year? Uh huh.

I'll be holding my breath all week.

BeechedJet 06-03-2019 05:38 PM

We know exactly what the validity of those rumors are but they’re already throwing a parade for spirit over at airliners.net with the 321LR announcement. So congrats Halon, you got a bunch of 15 year olds hook, line, and sinker.

Halon isn’t known on here for constantly lying so it must be true.

Tranquility 06-03-2019 06:23 PM

If Halon makes a claim a about a mid-contract pay adjustment to JetBlue or Southwest rates, then I’ll get my hopes up. The rest of this stuff is just foam in my coffee....

I think you should put down all the Internet forums you live on and get out more bro.

Fixed Gear 06-04-2019 04:20 AM

Also heard that BWI, as a crew base, was going to be announced in June to be on the bid packets for the September/October bids. like that hasn't been rumored for a while. lol

I’m only on one. And look at you... Wasting your energy trying to protect the APC world from the evil Halon1211 and his sidekicks. That’s even more pathetic.

Mister 06-04-2019 07:03 AM

A320 Type

Quick question, does Spirit do a full PIC type or do they put that silly limitation "circling approach in VMC conditions only" ?

It has VMC circling approach only. its still a PIC type rating. Lots of airlines do that.

IwasInverted 06-04-2019 07:18 AM

We don’t do a circle on the type ride, so you get the limitation. Not sure what makes that silly??

johnvito 06-04-2019 09:15 AM

Do you even circle, bro?

Yeah, let’s see....

Add the circle to the ride and add another task you can bust and pink slip?

Or don’t add the circle, have the limitation, and see how it doesn’t change anything about your job. We don’t circle IMC anyways; so unless you plan to work overseas?

Wish this decision would be made during the Paris Air Show - but it sounds like it won’t be made for a few more months:

At least more growth is coming in the next few years! 100+ new airframes means a lot of pilot movement...

I think everyone has that limitation.

Sorry, this will be my 4th type but the 1st one with a limitation. But maybe it's because it is my first 121 job

Even more why it doesn’t matter, your ATP isn’t circle limited, just the type.

Anywho...welcome to Spirit. Make sure you turn the APU off between turns this summer.

Hahaha. I kid I kid.

This comment was in the article which made the Paris airshow possibly relevant?

Christie says Spirit hopes to finalise an order in the next several months, though he will not rule out an announcement at the Paris air show later this month saying "we'll see how things go".

paulhood 06-04-2019 07:42 PM

Do you know if anyone has been hired @ Spirit with no recent experience? I have plenty of time 11,800 TT most of it part 121, last flown in April 2016, I took a break from aviation and now I am ready to come back.

The training program isn’t made for someone who has been off from flying for 3 years. Most likely the reason they won’t touch you, you are way out of currency.

Honestly, an abridged 121 Airbus PIC training program isn’t something you just jump back into after a 3 year break from flying. Want to fly for Spirit, get recurrent at a regional and apply.
