Lots of crews sitting around in DTW today waiting to get rescheduled and ended up timing out before crew scheduling threw in the towel and took the phone off the hook.

197 cancels so far.. might have to wear combat gear next time I work. Never thought I’d see a meltdown like 2015 again. But perhaps the sequel is about to hit the big screen. Phone hasn’t rang once. Let’s hope this can get under control soon. Stay safe boys and gals

Supposedly phones aren’t ringing because it isn’t necessarily the pilots they need. No reason to call a pilot in if there aren’t any flight attendants to work the flight or the plane is stuck somewhere else.

Yes. It’s the equivalent of the entire house being on fire and the pilot x list is a bucket of water for the upstairs guest bathroom. You need a firehose and it seems with 202 cancels so far today, they are maybe realizing mass cancelations are necessary to reset.

Again, no surprise. This is every summer.

ALPA really needs to get ahead of this and put out a press release stating we're not on strike. You search us on social media and your hundreds if not thousands of people reposting that the pilots are on strike. Even my brother texted me this morning asking about the strike.

ALPA had responded to the local news station that we are not on strike.
