There are 311 FOs in FLL. They are not reducing FLL down to Just 36 FOs.
The article states 275 FOs, 574 FAs. That gets us to 849 crew. Throw in the Mx, Dispatch and Gate Agents and that gets us to the to the 976 number.
This is systemwide, so total we furlough 275, not 275 just from FLL. It def sucks, but 275 is certainly better than 806.
If this is the real number, now let’s hopefully get some long term VILs agreed upon to get this 275 even lower.

The article begins by stating: "Spirit Airlines has told the state of Florida it intends to..."
There are 2 bases in the state... FLL and MCO (also add any new hires still doing IOE if there are any)... being that those are the 2 bases with the most international destinations, it wouldn't be far fetched to think that we would reduce both bases by 275 pilots. Having said that, I doubt the final number will be 806, but I think 275 is just not realistic. I hope I am wrong.
Also, the math isn't that simple... eg: 300FO's - 150FO's does not = 150 FO's.... it's more like 300FO's - 150FO's + 75 CA downgrades = 225 FO's

All of this comes from the document the company filed with the state last week. Official notice says that 275 pilots affected in FLL.
I tried to attach it to this post but in case I messed that up, the link is below, and is public domain.
I couldn't find the actual document with a breakdown of numbers on other state websites, but saw that Spirit filed in Texas for 238 employees affected. New Jersey was 59. Didn't see it uploaded yet in Michigan, Illinois, and Nevada.

Everyone needs to stop putting so much into these media reports. I know were all desperate for some scrap of news were not getting from the company but these are the same media clowns that dutifully informed us a 777 will not fly for long when it runs out of fuel. We just have to br patient for an announcement from the company and from the union. Everything else is just noise.

Hopefully not. Hopefully things change. But plan for the worse and hope for the best.
