The reality is that neither you nor the “experts” have a clue about long or short term effects of the vaccine. If any of you have any chemistry experience you would know that even things that are believed to be entirely safe can easily backfire because of some unforeseen side effect.
I’ll wait for actual long term studies to come out, because I see no reason to become a guinea pig for an experimental vaccine.

Yes, vitamin D has shown some benefit in reducing the severity of upper respiratory infection from both viruses and bacteria but it won’t prevent you from contracting COVID-19 or becoming a symptomatic or a asymptomatic spreader of the virus. And yes, survival rate is near 99% but merely surviving should not be the only goal.
I have a close acquaintance who’s been dealing with lingering respiratory and cognitive effects from the virus for six months now. She’s an otherwise fit, athletic and healthy 35 year old living a reduced quality of life after surviving the virus.
New data out of Israel where over 50% of the population has now been vaccinated has shown very promising results. 85% reduction in symptomatic cases after only one dose and 94% reduction after two doses and huge reduction in both symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission of the virus which is potentially a pandemic ending result if enough people are vaccinated.
If you’re afraid of the relatively new technology of mRNA vaccines then get the J&J vaccine that uses a more traditional method of vaccine development which has nearly eradicated polio, measles, mumps and rubella.
I would just encourage everyone to be part of the solution so we can move on from this pandemic.

I’m sure there are some of those 99% that survived and absolutely would have preferred to have been vaccinated against it. Merely surviving isn’t really the bar I want to set my health at even as great as not dying is.

Your previous post wasn’t completely out of line but it missed a few important points.

Excellent summation, sir. The data out of Israel is what I’m following to see if it continues in other population groups. And, if the Moderna or J&J show a similar result, we really have a way out of this mess that China really did start. (Read Rage, it’ll explain it.)
Well put points that surviving Covid should be nowhere near the goal of a first world country.

One could write a dissertation on what was done right vs. wrong by various individuals in the preceding year... The future is beholden upon us to make the correct decisions now based on the evidence provided now based on mitigation actions and vaccination evidence.
