Thanks for the help.
To add to what CAbear said, a lot of senior line holders who live in base bid for day turns which soaks up a big chunk of them. You can bid to avoid them, but even if you get a couple sprinkled in to your awarded line, there are several opportunities to drop or swap them. Obviously if it’s a weekend or holiday and coverage is tight that can be more difficult.

The good news is that unless you voluntarily reduce minimum days off between trips (which some people do in an attempt to get a line when they are on the senior edge of reserve) you won’t get a single ‘day trip’ surrounded by days off, it would be grouped with other trips and you still have 4 off days in between each group of duty days.

I should also mention that night turns are considered ‘2 day’ pairings if the duty period touches two calendar days, but credit wise they are paid as single day trips if there is only one report. For example 20:00 report FLL, do a San Juan turn and get back early the next morning.

These can be daisy chained together, and if you don’t mind doing the vampire shift, they can make a very commutable series of duty days (assuming you have a crash pad).

Please don’t bid night red rye turns to get commutable trips. You are useless at 4am after a commute or sleeping in a crash pad.

Think it works out to $1400 a month, maybe $1000. Typically 8 weeks.

It averages about $800 take home, per paycheck, on the 15th and 31st.

Also, no medical benefits for 90 days, so you have to fade a medical bankruptcy or cough up most of your paycheck for marketplace healthcare.

Seriously? That’s terrible! And no benefits for 90 days. Who cares about your vesting argument when you’re dealing with that.

Yup, but at least you will make less than everybody else for the rest of the year to take your mind off that......
