I thought it sounded pretty reasonable and overall a good approach. This will pass and if we look at life after corona we could be in a good position to excel

According to an email to instructors and checkairmen starting in April there will be 8 new hires per week instead of the planned 16. March classes are unchanged.

Just a guess, but i think he was quoting that instructor email maybe?

If they cut April in half, it would make sense that they might stop hiring in May. Who knows for sure.

Ultimately when all the BS is over with, there is almost zero indication that people aren’t going to fly again.

This country is addicted to travel. You really think people are going to start driving 18 hours to go visit friends/family and take trips? I mean really?

Of course all the “financial gurus” on here believe we are going to have some massive recession now, worse than 2008 after its all said and done. There isn’t any evidence this is going to happen. If signs point to it, then we evaluate what it means for us.

2 weeks ago, travel was fine and humming along. Then the media did their BS and it is what it is now.

When it passes, which it will, then things should resume.

Ive been out and about this weekend at home. Malls are busy, restaurants are busy. People are living their lives where I live. They aren’t holed up in their homes.

Worry about the “no one will ever fly again” when we have actual evidence that seems to be the case. Until then, there isn’t any that suggest we are all going to start traveling by train and car for the rest of our lives.

It is what it is now because the virus has spread exponentially. That's just science. Trump on the other hand said 2 weeks ago it was contained. Now he just got tested. That's the BS not the media that has to report facts convenient or not.

Anyways I wouldn't discount science and the reality of the matter for a second. Science is what makes planes takeoff remember?
I will agree with you though that the country is addicted to travel and to compare this with a 2008 breakdown in actual financial pricing/derivatives etc would be incorrect.

March classes unchanged.

8 new hires per week for April and May.

No additional hiring for June as of right now, but they will continue to interview and put applicants into a “pool” for class dates once we resume training. All of this is subject to change daily, of course.

I wasn’t going to post this but I feel people are cherry picking lines from the email to post the worst case scenario. It’s not good, but it’s definitely better than it could be right now.

Thank you. Seems like it would be nice if this type of info is disseminated to line pilots normally. Why the secrets?

He knows nothing! Fake news! 100% forget people like this. Nothing has come out of the school house or management.
