DC Pro X2. Easily fit in my aerocoast pro cooler bag, no clamp, excellent noise cancelling.

The longer I do this the less I want to carry. My goal is to have one of those half sized big rolling briefcases as my only bag. My rj days I did have a Bose headset but it’s not something I’d want to wear for many hours. I’m getting a little tired of the missed radio calls so looking to get a headset but I don’t like buds and I don’t want junk to haul around

No, the 850 is aircraft powered. Same plugs at the ship set 750. It’s a much better build than the 750 as well, much better. What they charge for the glorified walkman Telex 750s we have on the plane is laughable

I think the unitasker aviation headsets aren't more desirable than an ANC consumer headset with a boom-mike add on. They aren't necessarily smaller or better functioning and are only good for the cockpit part of your 121 life.
My solution was a Bose QC25 @$125 and a uflymike Harmony Light@$260. I also added a BT add-on for the Bose for my commute (which can be eliminated with QC35s for more $). I didn't want to lose the space to the Bose headset carrier, but in the end I've found it's well worth it. Also, the size is no greater than any on/over ear aviation headset. Now I've got a system that works incredibly well in the cockpit (light, comfortable, functional) and also makes my commute much less painful with the ANC and BT to my iPad for entertainment. I recently flew an aircraft where the headset outlet was MEL'd on my side and I was stuck with the hand mike and no ANC. Hot Mess...
The negatives I have found are:
Battery will only die when you're holding number one and it's your leg. ALWAYS
Unpacking, assembly and vice versa at each aircraft imposes on my laziness.

Telex Airman 8! I love it. Ship powered, light, NC works great for the BUS. This a/c is loud in the climb, wind noise. Don’t kid yourself, protect you’re hearing, etc My mom is a 40 year def- ed teacher, once it goes it’s gone. Over time slight higher decibels can take a real toll on hearing. The ship sets are POS’s. I was reluctant 4 yrs ago buying it, however free returns after 30 days on Amazon. Haven’t looked back since. More than half of the FOs have their own. It’s not a $$ thing. Ha. I do tell guys feel free to go topless at 18!
