Obviously, I’m the one that missed the point. Thank you for your valued input.

Out of curiosity, couldn’t there be a best of both worlds? I know alot of systems allow you to preference all kinds of factors, does Spirit not allow you to avoid longer legs?

Agree with everything except the peanut M&Ms
I think getting paid 0:45 per leg on top of block or better, and keep all other rigs would be better. At least than when you get the Burbank shuttle you make actually make bank...

And yes, that would mean an hourly pay cut to keep pilot cost constant.

An interesting idea. Do any other airlines do such a thing?

It’s all in the eyes of the beholder. Some of us did 5+ legs a day flying through the same damned line of weather only to hear passengers ***** getting on and off, dealing with EDCTs, gate availability, and the inevitable reassignment during your ‘long’ sit of an hour when you were going to drop the kids off at the pool and get lunch.... To each their own.

Probably not and both the union and management would be apprehensive. Keeping the cost the same would require them to know if multi leg days would go senior or not, and thy both hate unknowns.

From my comfy seat up front, lunch on the tray, flight deck is wide enough for me.
I don't really care how wide the tube flares behind me. Just as long as I don't have to go across 4-8 time zones and have to get my 30hrs of productive rest on the backside of the clock - bring on the long range NEO
I don't give a rat's ass as to # of aisles in the back.

Pretty much and if I get a pairing with a long DH on it, I drop it. Then again, I know guys who love long deadheads, they figure they are getting 100% to watch TV in the back.
